About the Role

We are seeking a Digital Lab Implementation Lead to drive the rollout and optimization of laboratory informatics systems and connected hardware in R&D environments. This role is hands-on and requires deep familiarity with wet lab operations—pharma or diagnostics labs—where digital systems and physical equipment intersect.

You will lead the implementation of LIMS and related technologies, integrate lab hardware/software, and optimize workflows. Beyond technical expertise, this role demands strong change management skills, the ability to influence scientists, and experience training power users to ensure adoption.

This role is a great match for you if you…

  • Enjoy leading change initiatives and influencing the adoption of new workflows and technologies.
  • Are comfortable partnering with scientists and technical teams, even in challenging situations.
  • Have experience training end users and building power-user communities to drive adoption.
  • Can communicate effectively, generating clear communication channels, and presenting KPIs to stakeholders.
  • Are proactive in identifying gaps and proposing solutions.
  • Enjoy learn new technologies and helping others adapt to them.
  • Thrive in dynamic environments where process optimization and continuous improvement are key.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading the implementation of digital lab systems, integrating hardware (barcode scanners, sample storage, IoT devices) with software platforms.
  • Design and optimize lab workflows across R&D processes (Discovery → Development).
  • Partner with scientists and engineers to gather requirements, identify gaps, and translate needs into technical solutions.
  • Lead change management initiatives: communicate updates, influence adoption, and build super-user communities.
  • Train end users and develop scalable onboarding materials.
  • Define KPIs, measure success, and present performance reports to stakeholders.
  • Oversee validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of lab systems.
  • Support compliance considerations (e.g., FDA or regulatory overlays) where applicable.

What We’re Looking For

  • Lab Experience: Hands-on experience in pharma or diagnostics R&D labs (not healthcare labs).
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with lab equipment, hardware/software integration, sample management, barcode systems, and electronic lab notebooks.
  • Systems Expertise: Experience implementing/configuring LIMS or similar informatics platforms.
  • Soft Skills: Proven ability to lead change, influence scientists, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Training & Adoption: Experience building power-user communities and training teams.
  • Process Optimization: Background in workflow design and process improvement (Lean Six Sigma preferred).
  • Regulatory Awareness: Exposure to FDA or similar compliance frameworks is a plus.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline (advanced degree preferred).
  • Ability to work on-site in either Tucson, AZ, or Pleasanton, CA.
  • Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, PMP, Scrum Master, or Change Management are a plus.

What We Offer (W2 Employment)

  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance: Comprehensive coverage to support your well-being.
  • Employer Contributions to Health Savings Accounts (HSA): Helping you save for medical expenses.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA): Options for healthcare and dependent care expenses, plus a $200 Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA).
  • Disability Insurance: Short- and long-term coverage, fully paid by the employer.
  • Life and AD&D Insurance: Employer-provided coverage, with options for additional voluntary coverage.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Access to personal and professional support resources.
  • Career Growth Opportunities: Pathways for advancement and skill development.
  • Team Engagement Activities: Regular team-building events and company-sponsored activities to foster collaboration and connection.
