Senior Copywriter/Copy Editor
Duration: 6-month contract.
Hours: Part‑time (20 hrs/week) with full‑time (40/hrs/week) option. Must be able to work the US timezone.
Location: Remote. Open to US or Latin America-based candidates. If based in Latin America, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Bolivia, and Ecuador are preferred locations.
Language Requirement: Native English speaker or C2-level proficiency.

About the Role
We are seeking senior‑level Copywriting and Copy Editing talent to join our team for a 6‑month engagement to support a Fortune 500 insurance client.
This engagement is open to full-time or part-time hours and may be fulfilled by:
- A part-time Senior Copywriter and part-time Senior Copy Editor
- Or a full-time Senior Copywriter/Editor who is confident in owning both writing and copy editing.
This role requires a seasoned, self‑directed professional who can operate independently, interface directly with client stakeholders, and deliver high‑quality, compliant content within a regulated environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Copywriting responsibilities:- Develop clear, compelling, and compliant copy across multiple channels (digital, campaign, product, and marketing communications).
- Translate complex or technical subject matter into accessible, customer‑friendly language.
- Adapt tone and voice to align with brand and audience needs.
- Support SEO‑driven and performance‑oriented content initiatives as applicable.
- Partner closely with editors and compliance stakeholders to refine content.
- Serve as the quality gatekeeper for all written content.
- Edit and proofread materials for grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, tone, and brand consistency.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory, legal, and compliance standards in a highly regulated industry.
- Fact‑check claims, disclosures, statistics, and product details.
- Enforce editorial standards, style guides, and terminology consistently across deliverables.
- Refine or support editorial QA processes as needed.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Copywriter and/or Copy Editor.
- Strong portfolio or work samples demonstrating marketing or communications experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a client-facing capacity, managing relationships and expectations without daily oversight.
- Proven ability to work independently in a client‑facing role.
- Experience working within an agency environment.
- Expert command of grammar, AP style, and brand voice adaptation.
- Ability to simplify complex subject matter for general audiences.
- Strong organizational and project‑management skills.
- Comfort working in compliance‑driven and regulated environments.
- Proficiency with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, project management platforms (e.g., Asana, Monday, Workfront), and digital asset management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines independently, proactively communicating status to both agency and client teams.
- Ability to incorporate feedback from compliance and legal reviews efficiently, maintaining quality while meeting regulatory standards.
- Experience with SEO-driven content strategy and performance-based copywriting.
- Native-level English or certified C2 proficiency (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience in insurance, financial services, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with regulatory review processes and legal/compliance workflows.
- Background in UX writing, digital product content, or SEO‑driven copy.
- Experience developing or maintaining editorial style guides.
- Copy editing certification (ACES, EFA, or equivalent) a plus.
