We are looking for an Associate Director to join our expanding Data Management practice. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of large-scale data management projects, contributing to practice growth through the development of go-to-market offerings and presales support, and driving the growth of the practice by providing technical and people leadership. As a leader, you are expected to be a skilled, hands-on practitioner who is ready to step in and support when needed.

What you will be doing

Delivery Excellence and Leadership

• Drive delivery excellence by overseeing key client engagements, ensuring sound project strategies, and aligning internal and client teams to a shared, high-value vision.

• Provide technical leadership by guiding consultants and engineers through assessments, strategy development, and implementation phases for data modernization initiatives.

Practice Development and Growth

• Collaborate with sales executives to identify new business opportunities, offer subject matter expertise throughout the sales cycle, and contribute to the creation of compelling pitch materials.

• Develop detailed scopes of work, including resource plans, effort estimates, timelines, and budgets, to support new project opportunities.

People Management and Mentorship

• Lead and manage teams, including direct reports and managers, providing mentorship to help achieve career objectives and grow the business.

• Foster a culture of continuous learning by staying updated on market trends and emerging technologies, sharing insights with the team.

Client Engagement and Relationship Building

• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders and prospective clients.

• Represent the organization at user group events, conferences, and workshops to enhance market presence and brand recognition.

Thought Leadership and Strategic Initiatives

• Collaborate with other data management leaders to develop and maintain offerings, case studies, points of view, and blog articles to advance practice positioning.

• Drive strategic initiatives to elevate the business unit's work, people, and market standing.

• Design and execute workshops, implement innovative strategies, and represent the organization in the broader professional community.

What we are looking for

  • 10+ years in the Data Management space, preferably with consulting experience in healthcare, retail, financial services or manufacturing verticals.
  • In-depth understanding of modern data architecture patterns and their role in supporting data driven decisions and analytics use cases.
  • Must have hands-on experience in architecting and implementing cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, and Azure.
  • Proficiency in Data Architecture, Data Modeling, Data Engineering, and Data Governance frameworks.
  • Proven experience conducting data modernization assessments, defining strategies, and creating roadmaps for future states with a clear and visionary approach
  • Experience in leading large scale data modernization initiatives in a solution architect and delivery lead capacities.
  • Track record of identifying and managing dependencies, risks, and opportunities across complex projects to align people and workstreams seamlessly.
  • Experience in technical pre-sales, contributing to practice growth, and developing client opportunities.
  • Skilled in creating and delivering presentations to executive stakeholders and large scale community audiences on topics such as data management, engineering, architecture, and governance.
  • Leadership experience in hiring, mentoring, and helping the team members succeed and achieve their career goals.
  • Passionate about people development and fostering a supportive and growth-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to problem-solve in dynamic, evolving environments and provide consultative insights during high-pressure conversations.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage technical and business-oriented audiences effectively.
  • Competence in prioritizing and managing multiple competing responsibilities while ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrated track record of proactive, value-driven contributions to both internal and client teams.
  • A deep enthusiasm for data and a strong belief in its transformative potential
  • Adaptable, forward-thinking mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and growth.

Relevant certifications in Databricks or Snowflake are a huge plus:

  • Snowflake SnowPro Advanced Data Engineer
  • Snowflake SnowPro Advanced Data Architect
  • Databricks Data Engineer Professional
  • Databricks Data Analyst

Additional information

  • Employment type: Long-term full-time role.
  • Salary range: $120,000 - $175,000
  • Location: Prefer candidates located in Minneapolis or Kansas City. Occasionally visiting the offices at Minneapolis, Kansas City or client site might be required.
  • Requirements: must be authorized to work legally in the US without sponsorship, now or in the future.

Consideration will be given to qualified candidates with varying levels of experience, with compensation commensurate with experience.
